Mikhail Pletnev: Trumpet Concerto & 14 Mémoires musicales

This recording features two world premieres on one album.

Mikhail Pletnev dedicated his 2024 trumpet concerto to the exceptional soloist Sergei Nakariakov, who performs in this atmospheric recording with the RIO conducted by Vladislav Lavrik.

Also on this album, Pletnev conducts the RIO in the premiere recording of his “14 Mémoires musicales” (2024). In this cycle, Pletnev transforms memories from his youth into musical images that, like a colorful kaleidoscope, cast a spell over the listener. The themes and melodies seem familiar but the compositions are entirely fresh and new – and are certain to evoke every listener’s own musical memories.
